Course Name: Spanish
It would be beneficial for the learner to have the skills and knowledge required by relevant experiences and outcomes from the broad, general education.
Pupils should spend at least twenty minutes twice per week learning the new vocabulary that they have been taught in class. ICT websites can also be used at home to help pupils to consolidate their skills. Homework will also sometimes take the form of written assignments which are designed to allow pupils to display their knowledge of the language. Pupils will also be engaged in project work throughout the year.
At the end of S4 a pupil achieving National 4 may progress to National 5.

The purpose of this Unit is to provide learners with the opportunity to develop reading and listening skills in the modern language and to develop their knowledge of straightforward language in the contexts of society, learning, employability, and culture.
The purpose of this Unit is to provide learners with the opportunity to develop talking and writing skills in the modern language and to develop their knowledge of straightforward language in the contexts of society, learning, employability, and culture.
Added Value Unit
The Added Value unit consists of an assignment which provides learners with the opportunity to apply their language skills to investigate a chosen topic in a familiar context in the modern language.
To achieve the National 4 Course award, learners must pass all of the Units, including the Added Value Unit. All of the Units will be assessed internally. This includes one assessment in each of the four skills. There is no external assessment at National 4 level.
